After a long day at work, I decided to unwind by cooking myself some dinner. I picked out a recipe from one of my favorite food blogs and set up everything that was needed for the dish.
The first step was chopping some fresh vegetables like tomatoes, onions, and bell peppers. They smelled so good as they were being sliced into neat little pieces.
Next came prepping the protein - chicken breast which I seasoned with salt, pepper, and garlic powder before searing it on a pan until golden brown. As soon as that finished cooking, I poured in some olive oil for my sauce base.
Then came the sauteing of onions and garlic followed by tomatoes and bell peppers which took about five minutes to soften up nicely.
Once everything was cooked to perfection, the last step was to mix it all together with a bit of basil leaves. The aroma was absolutely divine!
Serving this dish hot in a bowl made my fatigue from work vanish. There's something so therapeutic about cooking for oneself. It calms your mind and makes you feel productive.
As I savored every bite, I felt content knowing that I'd cooked myself a delicious meal instead of just grabbing take-out like usual.
