Adrian Ang, better known by his stage name Xiao Ming in the comedic videos from Singapore-based platform SGAG, underwent a profound personal journey when he and his wife experienced significant difficulties trying to conceive before eventually welcoming their two-year-old son Zachary into their lives. As co-founder and chief creative officer of Hepmil Media Group, Adrian shared his experience during a dialogue session on infertility at Club Street 64 titled 'Voices Of Hope: Navigating Infertility Together', organized by Fertility Support SG.
Fertility Support SG was established in December 2020 as an entirely volunteer-run group for women who have faced fertility challenges. Now recognized as an Institution of Public Character, the group has gned over 8,000 followers on Instagram and around 2,500 members within a private Facebook Group.
This community offers support to couples who are trying to conceive but struggling with infertility or those who have experienced miscarriage-a phenomenon that saw Singapore's total fertility rate plummet to an all-time low of 0.97 in 2023. The guest of honor at the event, Minister Indranee Rajah from the Prime Minister’s Office, emphasized the importance of acknowledging and addressing fertility issues.
Adrian revealed the emotional journey he went through as he and his wife faced difficulties getting pregnant before their son was born. Sharing his personal experience during the discussion, Adrian offered hope to others facing similar challenges:
